Book: Antifragile
What would you call something that you could drop, kick, beat up and it remains exactly the same? Maybe something like the word, 'robust', or maybe 'resilient', right? What about something like a mirror, where if you drop it, it shatters? Probably the word 'fragile' comes to mind. Well, in his book, Antifragile, Nassim Taleb wants to introduce a new word to our vernacular. A word that represents systems and things that not only remain the same or break when attacked or stressed, but actually get stronger. For instance, when you work out a human muscle, it breaks, only to build back stronger for the next workout. This, he calls being 'Antifragile.' During the course of his book, Nassim Taleb, takes you on a journey through every sector of our planet examining things that gain from disorder and systems that break from it (ex. education, popularity, stocks, cyber-defence, fitness, health care, and more). A journey that won't let you see the world the same again. A journey that might turn you from a lover of predicability, to an avid seeker of chance.
